Visiting a church for the first time can feel like a lot — new faces, a new building, wondering if you’ll stick out. Here’s everything you need to know before you come, so Sunday morning holds no surprises.
When
- 9:45 am — Sunday School & Community Group. Sunday School classes for every age, from the nursery to our adult classes — plus the Community Group, an adult gathering built around conversation, running 9:45–10:45. Either way, we’ll help you find the right room.
- 11:00 am — Worship Service. This is the main gathering. Plan on about an hour.
Where
5993 Gholson Road, Waco, TX 76705 — right on FM 933 (Gholson Road), north of Waco, near Elm Mott.
Parking is free and right at the building, with plenty of space — you won’t circle a lot or walk far.
What’s it like?
Our worship is blended, warm, and unhurried. We sing beloved hymns from the Baptist Hymnal alongside newer songs, with vocals and choir, piano and guitar — and the preaching walks straight through the Bible in plain language. From the friendly greeting the moment you walk in to a special parting song, we hope you feel welcomed and loved.
What should I wear? Whatever you’re comfortable in. You’ll see everything from suits and Sunday dresses to jeans and boots. Come as you are — we mean that.
Will I be singled out? No. We won’t ask you to stand up, introduce yourself, or wear a sticker. Slip in, and if you’d like to talk afterward, we’ll be glad to — at your pace.
What about my kids?
Your kids are not a problem here — they’re the point.
- Nursery care is provided for children under age four during Sunday School (9:45–10:50 am) and worship (11:00 am–12:15 pm), staffed by our dedicated nursery workers — and all preschool, children, and youth workers at CBBC are approved through a thorough application process and background check.
- Sunday School classes for every age at 9:45.
- Children are always welcome to stay with you in the service — nobody minds a wiggle or a whisper.
- On Wednesday nights, kids age 4 through 5th grade have K.I.C. — Kids In Christ (dinner 5:45 pm, program 6:10 pm); students in grades 7–10 have a meal at 5:45 followed by Youth Bible Study 6:15–8:30 pm (school year); and adults have Bible Study 6:30–7:15 pm.
